On June 9th, 2021 - Kate and Patrick had their very first date at the Dandy Crown in the West Town area of Chicago. Kate was immediately impressed by Patrick waiting for her outside despite her tardy arrival, and Patrick was immediately impressed by her knowledge of the purple beverage logo that was on his golf polo - clearly the date was off to a great start. Several hours later, as Patrick was describing a golf trip he and his dad always look forward to, Kate couldn’t help but wonder if it might be the same trip her own father and brother equally look forward to. After pulling up a group picture from the previous year and finding groomsman John Hendrickson standing just a couple feet away from Patrick, it was official - there was something larger at play here that was just starting.

As summer rolled on, Kate and Patrick quickly jumped into each other’s favorite summer activities. With lakehouse getaway weekends including Saugatuck, Powers, New Buffalo, and Ozarks mixed in with the occasional baseball game, they were able to experience the family and friend groups that made them who they are. Now months into their relationship, the weather started to cool but that initial spark from June had evolved into a flame of their love.

That flame has done nothing but grow during a few Notre Dame tailgate seasons, Oscar parties, Auto Shows, concerts and movies (extra popcorn - with peanut butter M&Ms of course), trips to the desert, a trip to Ireland, countless weddings to attend, and competitive games of cards over a drink. Kate and Patrick are absolutely thrilled that it’s their turn to make official what most people have expected from the very start - to get married in front of their favorite people and share their love with one another for the rest of their lives.
