Aaron and Kate met on Bumble in September of 2023. Kate had been praying that God would put the right man in her life and decided to give it one last try when she came across the first profile showing this goofy guy showing off his outfit. After lots of conversations and phone calls, Aaron and Kate finally met. While walking up to the first meeting at Bad Daddy's Burgers, Kate's old neighbor saw her accorss the parking lot and began yelling for her. Kate had to give Aaron the "one moment" finger and run over to her to tell her that she saw her and to stop yelling. Kate proceeded back to poor Aaron who said, "Great you saw me and ran away, this is going well." Kate then told him how cool his "Star Wars" tattoo was, which was definitely a Harry Potter tattoo. Even with struggles at the beginning, Kate and Aaron continued to talk and go on more dates.

On Aaron and Kate's second date, her parents accidentally showed up to meet Aaron since they had missed meeting him at church,

Aaron and Kate stayed focused on the mentality that they were each looking for their forever. They prioritized strong foundations over flirtations.

Kate was running a half marathon at Disney at the beginning of November and Aaron stayed on the phone with her most of the race, encouraging her and telling her how far ahead of the balloon ladies she was as how many overpasses were left on the course. This is when Kate fell in love with Aaron.

Aaron got up at 3a a month later to ride around with Kate's parents for hours to support Kate while she ran her first Marathon in Huntsville. After 14 miles, Aaron refused to give any affirmation of the relationship and would only encourage when he met up with Kate at aid stops. Aaron continually stated this was to make sure Kate knew she could do this without a guy. At the finish line, Aaron went around the barricade to congratulate Kate on her finish and whispered sweet proud statements to Kate. Kate told Aaron she loved him on this day. It took Aaron a bit longer to find the words but he continually would remind Kate that he was showing her rather than saying it because words can be cheap and actions matter.

After many trials to the relationship, and victories over difficult external circumstances, Kate and Aaron got engaged on June 29th, 2024.
