Our Story!

Hi family and friends! This is Kate and Jay here!

To begin, we would just like to thank each of you on here who have invested in our lives individually before meeting each other and in our relationship the past 2 years we have known each other. We believe that the Lord has placed each of you within our lives each for a specific purpose and for that, we praise God!

We meet at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. It was Kate's second year in New Orleans and Jay's first year in New Orleans where we became best friends. Throughout that time, we were able to hangout within the same friend group and we really got to know each other in many different areas of life! The following semester, we were in three classes together where we discovered that we were the same major, and the Lord has placed the same passion and the same calling upon our lives, to serve the local church. After many long conversations at Sonic and seeking the Lord in prayer individually, we knew that this is something we needed to give a go! Jay asked Kate to be his girlfriend on October 29, 2022. Since then, the friendship never stopped and we began to intentionally pursue each other for the purpose of one day getting married! We went on ice cream runs, Sal’s snowball trips, explored the city of NOLA, sat in the library and did “school” and went to different events around campus at NOBTS. A semester later we were both involved in leadership teams on campus and in the church where the Lord allowed us to serve together in many ways! Since then, our friendship and relationship grew so vibrantly where we were known as "Jay and Kate" around the campus of NOBTS and around our family and friends. Fall of 2023 we each began to pray individually and seek wise counsel about when we should pursue marriage and came to the conclusion to get married December of 2024! On April 20, 2024 Jay surprised Kate with a bittersweet proposal at her parents house. We thank God that he brought our stories together. Ever since then, we have been pursuing our relationship with the Lord individually so that whenever our big day comes we are able to pursue Christ together to serve each other and the local church for the rest of our days!

As we prepare for our day, we ask that you guys would pray for our engagement and marriage. Working full time, planning a wedding, and doing full time education and ministry is not an easy task but we are confident that it is a task the Lord has called us to in this season!

We love each of you dearly!
