It all began at Fareway, where Kate and Tanner spent years as friendly coworkers who exchanged smiles, quick chats, and the occasional “have a good shift!” and "can you reach that for me?". For six years, they knew of each other—but little did they know that the person they were meant to spend forever with was just a few aisles away.

Fast forward to January 2024: sparks finally flew, and Kate and Tanner’s story truly began. The moment Kate knew Tanner was the one? When he lent her his hat so she could make snow angels in the Fareway parking lot. (Yes, it was as sweet and cinematic as it sounds—feel free to be jealous!)

Just a little over a year later, Tanner planned the most romantic proposal. At sunset, during a picnic at their favorite spot in Hartman Nature Reserve, he got down on one knee by the pond. Surrounded by deer, birds, and all the magic of nature, Kate said yes—and the rest is history.

Together, they’ve built a life full of joy and quirks: working on puzzles, building Legos, reading side by side, traveling, visiting museums, aquariums, and zoos, and sharing love (and cat treats) with their two kittens, Juniper and Olive. And of course, no story of theirs would be complete without hockey—Tanner is a loyal Flyers fan, Kate proudly cheers for the Rangers, and somehow they make the rivalry work (though game days can get interesting).

With so many shared interests, endless laughter, and a love that fits perfectly, Kate and Tanner are proof that the best love stories are worth the wait.
