Kate and Matt met a short 12 years ago as a Freshman and a Junior at Arlington High School. As for how they started dating, it all started with one simple word and the rest was history: “PROM?” While they had been talking for some time before this, the night Matt wrote out these four letters over a popular game of Draw Something back in 2012 forever changed the course of their lives. Jumping ahead a few years, two high school graduations, and four proms later, these two knew this wasn’t your average high school relationship; they knew very early on that this was a once in a lifetime kind of love.

As time went on, they continued to navigate life together with so much love and support for one another. Matt went on to attend UMass Amherst in 2013 and Kate joined him there in 2016. They loved the quick time they got to spend together there. When Matt graduated a year later, he moved back home to Arlington, but still spent many weekends visiting Kate during her Junior and Senior years at UMass. Then in 2021, after both entering the “real world”, Kate as a Kindergarten teacher, and Matt as a Financial Advisor, the two moved into their first apartment together in Dorchester, MA. They have spent the past two and a half years there making it a home and have loved everything that their space has to offer, between strolls along the Harborwalk, trips to the beach for volleyball with friends, or many summer days spent lounging by the pool. Finally, in March of 2023, on the weekend of their 11th anniversary, Matt popped the big question while walking along this same Harborwalk. They’ve been busy bringing their dream wedding to life ever since!
