Our Wedding

Our story began back in high school during gym class, where we first crossed paths playing wiffle ball in the school gym. What started as a friendly rivalry soon blossomed into a deep and enduring friendship as we became part of the same close-knit group of friends. As we ventured into college, our lives took us to different states—Ian to Arizona and Kate to Rhode Island. Despite the distance, our bond only grew stronger, and we began dating during Ian’s freshman year and Kate’s sophomore year. The distance between us grew shorter when Kate made the move to ASU. Shortly after Kate graduated and moved back to Massachusetts, COVID-19 restrictions brought Ian back from Arizona. Moving in together opened up new opportunities for us to explore, travel, and create unforgettable memories while cherishing time spent with friends and family. We are incredibly grateful to still be surrounded by the amazing friends who first brought us together and who have continually supported our journey. Looking back on the past eight years, we are thankful for every moment that has led us here. As we embark on this next chapter of our lives, we are excited to celebrate our love and the journey ahead with all of you. Thank you for being a part of our story—we can’t wait to share this special day with you!

Friday

Saturday 

Group Hike 11AM-12:30PM

Buckeye Trail to Spruce Flats Falls <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/tennessee/spruce-flats-falls-trail " rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/tennessee/spruce-flats-falls-trail </a> is rated as a moderate 1.6 mi out and back trail with 433 ft elevation gain to a waterfall viewpoint. The trail is 40 mins away from the venue, near the town of Townsend. Click here for more detailed directions to get to the parking lot and trailhead. <a href="https://seemoresmokies.com/spruce-falls/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://seemoresmokies.com/spruce-falls/</a>. Plan to meet us in the parking lot! Note: you must purchase a parking tag to display in your car for entrance into the national park. For this hike, you can get a tag from the kiosk at Middle Prong Little River Parking lot A in Townsend.

Pack your own lunch to enjoy at River Rat's picnic areas or check out their food truck options at outpost A.

River Rat Water Tubing 2PM-4PM

~2 hrs of tubing through rapids and swimming holes. Smoky Mountains National Park 

Explore through hiking trails, horseback riding, cycling, fishing, and more! World renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its mountains, and remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, this is America's most visited national park.

Hiking Trails 

Some of our favorite trails include Abrams Falls and Alum Cave Trail to Mount LeConte (make this a shorter, easier hike by stopping at Alum Cave). Water Activities 

Stay cool during the Summer with activities such as tubing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, and swimming.

Gatlinburg

SkyPark 

Ride up a chairlift to take in the panoramic vistas of Gatlinburg and see deep into the peaks and valleys of the Great Smoky Mountains, including the three highest summits in the Smokies.&nbsp;Once up top, take a walk across the longest pedestrian cable bridge in North America and walk along the SkyTrail.

Anakeesta Park 

Ride to the summit of Anakeesta mountain for treetop adventures, a botanical garden, shopping and dining all amongst the backdrop views of the national park.

Explore Downtown 

Downtown Gatlinburg is packed with entertainment options, including mini-golf, escape rooms, and mountain coasters. Enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants and bars, then dive into the nightlife with live music, shows, breweries, and wineries. Explore local distilleries offering moonshine and whiskey tastings, giving you a taste of the area's rich history and culture.

Things to Do

Shuttle Service 

We have arranged shuttle transportation for our wedding, including service to and from the venue and the after-party. For those staying at the Ramsey Hotel, pickup will be at 2:00pm. For those staying elsewhere, there is a central parking location at 1684 Waldens Creek Rd, Pigeon Forge and pickup will be at 2:40pm.

~25 minute drive to our venue, The Ramsey is centrally located near top attractions, restaurants, and shops. You can enjoy all that Pigeon Forge has to offer. The hotel boasts several on-site amenities, including a swimming pool, restaurant, and fitness center.
