Our Love Story

Kate’s love for new cultures and sunshine led her to do her masters degree on Mt. Carmel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. One fine day, she found herself meeting some new friends at a hostel in the middle of the desert six hours away from Haifa. Jotham’s dad volunteers there and he gave the Shabbat dinner sermon. Kate thanked him for the beautiful message and they discovered that they both live in the same city six hours away. Kate and he saw each other again at a Christian conference center where he serves that was bringing together Jewish, Arab, and International believers. Because he is Nigerian Lebanese he told Kate “You are also from Africa and I know what it is like to feel like the outsider. I don’t want you to feel like that so come to my home for dinner.” Kate brought her roommate and showed up for dinner with his family. Kate really wanted to learn to surf and Jotham’s family are amazing surfers. She thought that she and Jotham’s sister would become surfing buddies. Somehow Jotham and Kate ended up going surfing one day… and then kept on going… and then they became accidental best friends… and the rest is history! :) The Mediterranean Sea… and God… brought them together and they spent as much time as possible surfing, catching sunsets, and enjoying the twinkling city lights and brights starts on Mt. Carmel. After a year of beach days, they decided to be more than friends. And they are so excited to live happily ever ever with God as the center of their relationship! And they are excited to do their lives with YOU! 🤍
