I think we were 21 when we made the pact of "if we're not married by 30 we will marry each other" after many of years of close friendship. We made this pact for a number of reasons, but mostly because we knew we could count on one another to show up, be kind, be supportive, and keep each other laughing. We decided to become a couple a few years later for those same reasons and as it happens, we are fulfilling our pact right on time.
