Kate and Natasha met in the summer of 2009. Kate was hosting a going-away party for a mutual friend at her Pacific Beach home and Natasha attended the party with some friends. They both shared the same group of friends, but had never crossed paths before then. Being as social as they both are, they met and quickly developed a friendship that would soon grow to be much more. Little did they know that seven years later, they would be getting married!
Natasha thought that she had planned a perfect evening to celebrate Kate's birthday with her closest friends. The invitations had been sent out, the reservation was made at her favorite restaurant, all was going to plan. Kate though had a different plan in place. Kate figured the only way to truly surprise Tash would be if she planned their engagement on a day that Tash "thought" she had full control over. So, Kate also out invitations, rented the perfect beach house, catered food from their favorite restaurant, followed behind Tash to cancel all the plans she had made, and asked Tash if they could go to her work Happy Hour in Mission Beach before they went to her birthday dinner.
So on Saturday September 12, 2015 Natasha and Kate went to Mission Beach. As they walked down the boardwalk, Kate asked Natasha if they could walk on the sand like they often did when they first met. As they walked down the beach, Kate directed them towards a sign that she had placed on the sand. As they approached the sign, Kate got down on one knee and asked Natasha to marry her. Natasha replied "of course". Natasha thought that they were still going to go out and celebrate Kate's birthday. Then Kate shared the second part of her surprise proposal. All of their closest friends and family ran out onto the beach after having just watched the entire proposal from the beach house. They celebrated the night away with their closest loved ones!
