Our ceremony and reception will both take place at The Homestead, making it the most convenient place to stay. The resort offers a variety of accommodations to fit your needs, from one and two-bedroom suites (hotel room style) to townhouses and full houses.

When booking through The Homestead, be sure to mention that you're a guest of the Swartz and Shields wedding to ensure full access to the venue on the day of the event.

All guests receive a 10% lodging discount, whether you book from our room block or choose a townhouse or home outside of it. To apply the discount, call The Homestead at (231) 334-5000 and mention the Shields-Swartz Wedding when booking.

Please note: You must book directly through the hotel to enjoy all resort amenities. Reservations made through third-party sites like Airbnb or VRBO will not include access to pools, restaurants, the beach club, or the resort’s private beach.

Our venue is also a beach resort offering a variety of lodging accommodations, from hotel-style rooms to townhomes and larger single-family homes. The Homestead is a popular summer destination, and bookings can fill up quickly. We currently have a room block with a limited number of hotel style rooms, as these tend to book first. Please note that bookings for townhomes and houses on-site will not be available until April 2025, so please keep that in mind when arranging your lodging.

We would love for our guests to stay onsite at The Homestead. This way, we can continue celebrating the day after the wedding with informal gatherings on the mile-long private beach along Lake Michigan and at the beachside pool club. However, we completely understand if you’d prefer other accommodations, and we want to make that as easy as possible.
