We first met at church when Caleb was placed as a leader in the Lifegroup that Kate had attended the previous year. Throughout that year we became friends.


We started hanging out in groups during our Lifegroup activities. During this time we started talking more and more and eventually realized that we have a lot in common. We started going on walks together and started talking more and more 1 on 1. This was around March 2023.


As we were progressing more and more towards dating, we were also getting closer and closer to when Caleb was about to go to SE Asia for 2 months to hangout with college students. We decided that it would be wise to wait until after Caleb got back to officially start dating. We talked as much as we could while Caleb was in SE Asia and started officially dating the first day that Caleb got back. Caleb's first flight was delayed and prolonged when we started dating until July 14th, 2023.


As we progressed more and more in our relationship life was getting better and better. We said I love you in September 27th 2023. Throughout our relationship we went through many seasons of not being in the same city. First, Caleb went back and forth from Cincinnati to Akron while support raising for staff. Then Kate went on coop and moved to Indianapolis for 4 months. We started praying about engagement in March 2024 and from then on we continually kept praying about marriage.


On January 1st, 2025 we went on a date to get dinner and after dinner Caleb wanted to recreate a picture that we had taken the previous year in front of the Christmas tree in Medina. Once we got there we took a picture and then Caleb got down on one knee and asked Kate to marry him! And Kate said 'yes'!
