Our Wedding

It was the summer of 2016 when three young ladies moved into a duplex in Broad Ripple that would become known as the Broadway House. Three high school friends from Evansville, excited to live in a fun and vibrant part of town. On the other side were three dashing young lads in the midst of constructing a giant eagle, which would take flight into the Ohio River later that year. For the first few weeks, there were polite hellos and a few short conversations in the yard, but primarily the girls watched the boys from their window, wondering why they were building a giant eagle, and why it would be flying into the Ohio.&nbsp; Finally, one of the girls summoned her courage (and some Jack Daniels) and knocked on the boys’ door to invite them over. Unfortunately, only one of them was home, and not the one that’s featured on this website. That one was off playing foosball with several of his coworkers. However, he interrupted his foosball briefly to take a phone call from one of his roommates saying “Hey, the neighbor girls want to hang out.”&nbsp; Within minutes, an Uber was called, and he was on his way to meet these cute neighbor girls. As he walked in the door, he and his companions were greeted by not three but eight young ladies, all of which had been enjoying a few evening cocktails before heading out to the Broad Ripple strip. Introductions were made, drinks were poured, and the evening continued on its merry way, though with a notably lack of much interaction between our two heroes of this story.&nbsp; That would all change at the first stop of the evening – The Alley Cat. Broad Ripple’s finest dive bar, known for the somewhat sticky floor, dim lighting, and cash only policy. It was here that the girl who had knocked on the door also dubbed herself ‘matchmaker’ and not-so-subtly pushed our two heroes together. No one may ever know the actual words she spoke, but it was along the lines of “Hey Adam! You’re single. Kate’s single too! You should chat.” Then our matchmaker departed to order herself another drink, leaving our heroes alone with that not-at-all-awkward introduction.&nbsp; As the awkwardness subsided, it quickly became clear that these two should indeed “chat” and they hit it off quite nicely. They chatted for quite a while at The Alley Cat and the chatting quickly turned to dancing at their next stop – The Brickhouse Piano Bar, another fine Broad Ripple establishment. And so they danced, they chatted, and the night continued on its merry way.&nbsp; Eventually their feet tired and their drinks ran low, and our two heroes and their companions realized it was time to head back to the duplex, where we started this longer-than-it-should-be-for-a-wedding-website story. The girls invited the boys over for one final drink and to share some frozen pizza (which was just as frozen when they ate it, thanks to the late-night cooking prowess of our bride to be). Nevertheless, our groom ate it, not wanting to insult the young lady he had quickly grown quite fond of. They shared a few final words, split the last slice of pizza, and finally said their goodbyes – each wandering back to their rooms with thoughts of romance in their heads and the early feelings of newfound love in their hearts.

The trusted older sister of the bride, leaving big shoes to fill and an outstretched helping hand everywhere she goes! We have spent many hours swimming next to each other, carpooling together, making mundane tasks more fun! On Wedding Day, Kyla’s calming presence, creative crafting, and contradance skills will be much appreciated!

The cool-as-a-cucumber, fun-as-a-flower younger sister of the bride. We are past stars of High School Musical karaoke, Just Dance connoisseurs, and frequently found sending each other Tik Tok videos that make us laugh. On Wedding Day, Kelsey’s laid-back demeanor, frequent chuckles, and ready-for-a-good-time attitude will be hot commodities!

A super supportive cousin of the bride who is always working hard to help make her family, friends, and OT patients feel their best! We spent almost every Thursday night together from 2014 - 2018. These Thursdays were filled with post-college, exploring-life heart-to-hearts that certainly guided me through these years. On Wedding Day, Megan’s encouraging support and dry, witty sense of humor will be just the things I need by my side all day!

A delightful dancer and younger cousin of the bride. We have played against and with each other in competitive badminton, corn hole, canasta, flip cup, dice capades, and many many other games throughout the years. Having Morgan on your team is always an asset! On Wedding Day, I can’t wait to watch Morgan light up the dance floor with her killer moves and ear-to-ear smile!

Artful, calm, and soon to be the bride’s sister-in-law. We have had fun getting to know each other through Fisk dinners, trips, and family reunions – Rachel was warm, inviting, and kind as soon as I met her and her family! On Wedding Day, I am so excited to gain Rachel as my sister-in-law and will be looking forward to many more family events together!

My proud Purdue friend who has been strongly cheering on the boilermakers and me for as long as I’ve known her! We have many memories running  and gallivanting around Purdue, Broad Ripple, Louisville, and Indy. Audrey has been my partner-in-crime and voice-of-reason for the past 10 years and counting. On Wedding Day, Audrey’s easy-to-laugh and down-to-earth style will keep the day rolling smoothly and this bride happy as can be.

My longest held friend – dating back to 1997ish? She’s the kind of friend you hold onto once you meet her! We were always looking for creative ways to have fun, including shouting out crushes names while riding water slides at Holiday World and performing dances for captive audiences in elevators. On Wedding Day, Lauren’s willingness to do anything for her friends will come in handy – as will her commitment to never-a-dull-moment :)

A close high school friend and hands-down one of the easiest people to talk to! We lived together in the Broadway House and Katie is a key player in Adam and I getting together. We’ve shared more drinks, vent sessions, and laughs than I could ever count! On Wedding Day, I’m looking forward to dancing the night away to our favorite songs, just like good times in college and Broad Ripple!

After 22 years, I’m not even sure where to start with Boris, so I’ll just share a fun fact instead. This guy once lost his glasses in Puerto Rico and had to wear his prescription sunglasses at night – which is just as classy as it sounds.

Raised on a potato farm, this Irishman came back to the US in 2007, where he and I met in high school. I’ve crashed on his couch more times than I can count and have never found someone sleeping in stranger places.

Dr. Breach earned his title through handshakes and the simple fact that it works well with his name. Despite his lack of medical training, he’s a mainstay in the Indy crew and can generally be found sipping Irish whiskey and chasing his dog, Zeke.

Jake’s the oldest of the Fisk crew and sports the kind of long blonde hair that makes girls jealous. Another go-to travel companion, he and I had some great times in Scandinavia back in 2013.

The youngest of the Fisk crew, Kaden and I have had many adventures on family vacations. He’s a talented poet / artist and can often be found at open mic nights around town.

My go-to hiking and Indy 500 companion (along with his wife Karlee), Pete and I have summited several peaks together, cursed many a long, steep incline and gotten more than our fair share of sunburns.

I lived with Ajmir for three years in Bloomington, where he now works on classic sports cars. We also routinely get together on my family’s land in Greene County to play with chainsaws and sip some Budweiser in the creek.

If heavy metal were a person, it would be Harold. He’s the nicest guy you’ll ever meet and a fantastic artist. I have several of his paintings in my apartment. We also lived together for a few years in college and would routinely greet each other in the morning by meowing like cats.
