Kate's version

5 years ago my sister, MJ, asked if she could set me up on a blind date with a guy that "comes into the Brewhall all the time". As a beer- tender at the Shakopee Brewhall- she had many regulars and had gotten to know Mark pretty well. She described him to me as "liking beer and music". I was reluctant to get back out there but also - what could go wrong with beer and music? So I agreed. We met at the Shakopee Brewhall on 7/3/2020 and the first thing that caught my attention was his amazing voice, then the kind eyes, then the awesome calves that I ogled as he walked in front of me-leading me to our table with a couple of beers. Conversation was easy. I felt like I knew him forever. We left the Brewhall to go to his friend's party. Playing a game of truth or dare, Mark put on a Vikings t- shirt that belonged to a tiny little girl at the party and I fell in love just a little. There was a notorious make out session in the bathroom and then a one night stand that never ended. We braved our early dating life through the height of Covid- even traveling to Jamaica together. This trip solidified our relationship and sealed the deal on my traveling partner for the rest of my life. We made the brave choice to cohabitate and I moved into Mark's in November of 2022. I'd live in a box with this man. On January 30th, 2023- he popped the question in Cabo San Lucas. I said yes and I will continue to say yes to choosing Mark- everyday- for the rest of my life.

My Side of the Story 😁

Picture of My Side of the Story 😁
I had known Kate’s sister for a few years and had probably even met Kate in passing at some point, but MJ wanted to set us up on an actual date. I was pretty happy living the bachelor life but figured why not! When she arrived, I was awestruck by her eyes. They just kinda drag you in. Conversation was easy between us and the thing that caught my attention was her knowledge of music and many different types. I tried to throw her off by bringing up one of my favorite metal bands Tool and she knew exactly who they were. That scored some major points with me. After the first night I knew I wanted to see her again but wasn’t sure if the feeling was mutual. We set up some more dates and within a month I felt like we had been together for a while. We have had some amazing adventures over the last 5 years and I can’t wait to take many more. We travel well together and can even enjoy our time alone. As a bonus, she loves my passion for golfing and knows that it can take up much of the summer but sooner or later maybe I’ll get her to join me on the course. Her kindness, smile, and those morning kisses when she leaves for work are just a few of the great things about her but one thing is for certain we are better together than we are apart. Looking forward to the rest of our lives…
