Kate and Alex first met in March 2020. This was just four short months after Kate had moved to Cleveland, OH from Minnesota. They hit it off right away and hung out again a couple days later which included tequila shots and homemade “vegan” burrito bowls. They remained “just friends” for the next several months.

During these months, Kate and Alex continued to hang out nearly every day of the week. It was the middle of a pandemic… what else were you supposed to do? Highlights included enjoying warm, sunny days on the viaduct with family and friends, bike rides to Edgewater Park, Lakewood Park and to all the Cleveland signs (which resulted in the worst sunburn Kate had ever had), sand volleyball at Mulberry’s and nights out in the Flats.

They remained “just friends” until Kate worked up the nerve to tell Alex that she liked him more than that and the rest was history.

Their time together has included tons of travel – Put-In-Bay, Nashville, Chicago, Las Vegas, Banff, Key West and of course, Florida and Minnesota. They enjoy attending home Browns games plus some away games each season. Playing sand volleyball in the summer, playing in a shuffleboard league in the winters and continuing to ride bikes when time allows. They are avid Cleveland food and drink lovers and love being part of everything Cleveland has to offer, even morning St. Patty’s Day races.

Last year was a big year for Kate and Alex as they traveled to Iowa to bring home a sweet pup, Millie and got engaged in October 2023.
