You asked for more details, here's more details:
(this will be continually updated as Kate remembers things she forgot to put on here)
The wedding ceremony itself will be held at the St. Louis City Courthouse with only our parents present as witnesses. Please don't be offended that you weren't asked to attend - this is the part we care the least about. Neither of us dreamt about our dream wedding as children and would rather put the time, effort and money into celebrating with all of our friends and family.
Because Earthbound Beer has a 100-person maximum in their venue, our guest list is restricted, meaning not everyone will be allotted a "plus one." If your invitation doesn't mention a plus one/guest on the envelope, please don't bring an extra person. All are welcome to join us after 11pm on Cherokee Street, just not in the venue.
The party will run from 7-11PM. Dinner will be provided by The Fattened Caf. in the form of filipino BBQ. We are still finalizing the menu, but will post it here as soon as it's finished. If you have any dietary restrictions, you may want to eat before you arrive, as we are pretty sure all the food has gluten and/or meat in it. There will be an open bar, but we don't know if they are aware of the kind of crazy they will be serving, so please tip your bartenders generously!
This is a blackout party (trendy, right?), meaning you need to wear black. Everyone looks good in black, and we want you all looking your best. Plus, has anyone ever thought of Kate as a "wearing white" kind of bride? You can dress as casual or as formal as you like, as long as it's black. You don't have to go full head-to-toe (bonus points if you do!), but we ask that you make an effort.
There is no designated parking lot for Earthbound Beer, only street parking. This is St. Louis city, so please be smart: don't keep valuables in your vehicle, lock your doors, and keep your eyes open. We strongly encourage carpooling and rideshare, especially if you plan on drinking.
We have been living together for 10 years and have all the kitchen appliances we could ever ask for, so we do not have a registry or a wishlist for any gift items. If you would like to give a gift, we are asking for donations towards a down payment for our first home. We have set up a HoneyFund (link below) or you can donate in person Godfather-style. We expect nothing, so please don't feel obligated! We just want to have a rowdy night with our favorite people.
If you would like a physical copy of the party invitation as a keepsake, please contact Kate or John by August 1 and we will mail it to you.
