Our Wedding

Katelin &amp; I met at probably the most intense two years our lives, during PA school. Although it was very busy and very taxing with all the exams and rotations, I would also say it was the two most enjoyable years of my life, a HUGE part of that of course being that those two years are when Katelin &amp; I fell in love. Contrary to what people might think we actually did not do a lot of studying together during the first year of school, but both looked forward to finishing whatever studying we had to do for that night so we could talk and not think about school for an hour or so. We learned a lot about each other walking my roommate's dog, Ozzie. About twice a week I would ask Katelin if she wanted to come over and walk Ozzie with me. Katelin, being the much more studious one, would give me an open-ended answer - saying she had a lot of catching up to do and so on, but she would always end up coming over. Ironically it was Ozzie who I first told that I was falling in love, after a late night phone conversation with Katelin about 5 months after meeting her. Before our relationship really got going I had a couple wing men (you know who you are) and she had her girls guiding us to each other. I love her for her and she loves me for me, (as I found out after she stayed with me after a certain mishap in Kansas City). We have already had some amazing adventures and have been there for each other in hard times, and I literally could not dream up a more amazing woman to spend the rest of my adventures, hardships, and life with. ~Jake

How we met

The Proposal

Jake proposed on September 19, 2014 at Lake Zorinsky in Omaha, NE. It was a beautiful Friday evening. We had always talked about having a picnic there so I didn't think much of it when Jake suggested we do that. Then Jake surprised me with a canoe by the water. Again, we had talked about renting a canoe plenty of times as well so I still wasn't too suspicious. It was about the middle of the lake, when the sun was quickly going down, &amp; sweat was starting to pour down Jake's face from rowing so fast - that I realized something was up!;) We docked near a gazebo &amp; Jake walked me out onto the deck, I then started hearing music (Bruno Mars, "Marry Me") playing and turned around to see all of our closest family &amp; friends walking towards us! I'll never forget that moment! Jake's three month old niece, Olivia, then came up to me with a ring in her hand (and her mom's;)...wearing a pink onesie that said, "Will you be my Aunt?" I of course told Olivia yes &amp; then turned around to see Jake down on one knee. I really have no clue what he said but I know it was the happiest moment of my life so far &amp; I can't wait to marry this man! ~KatelinWe are very excited to share our special day and lives with all of you, and are looking forward to one heck of a party on October 17th!

Our Story

Details

Sloane is Katelin's cousin, best friend, roommate, halloween costume partner, etc etc! They grew up together &amp;  had a blast later going to K-State together! Go Wildcats! Sloane &amp; Katelin both became engaged 10 days apart!

Jake and Dylan have been best friends since 2nd grade, and attended the same grade school, high school, and even college...Jake just could not get rid of this guy!

Katelin met Kelsey at K-State &amp; they quickly became great friends! She is the most carefree, fun, caring, &amp; adventurous girl around! She's traveled the world &amp; continues to inspire Katelin with her zest for life &amp; traveling!

Jake and RJ met at Mount Michael and have been there for each other ever since.

Riley 'RJ' Lebbert

Katelin met Emily at Wichita State. They sat next to each other all day everyday for a year &amp; studied together after that! She is an amazing friend, person, athlete, &amp; wing women! Don't forget to recycle;)

Emily Hutson

Jake and Nick have been best friends since 2nd grade. They have always enjoyed a healthy competative relationship, and although Nick would never admit it out loud deep down he knows Jake will always be a better one on one basketball player.

Katelin met this Emily at Wichita State as well! She is an awesome person &amp; always there for her friends. Katelin couldn't have made it through PA school without the Emily's!!! The infamous KC story where Jake went missing was actually after this Emily's wedding!

Jake and Jono have known each other since high school, but became close friends while shaping the minds of young campers at Camp St. John, now known as Camp Mount Michael...oh and there were a few road trips as well.

Sam is Katelin's brother, and yes Jake is excited to gain a brother in Sam and looks forward to getting even closer to him....mainly he is just jealous of Sam's hair.

Bridget is Jake's younger sister. She is the most outgoing, caring, funny, &amp; sassy future sister-in-law ever!

Josh is Jake's brother-in-law, married to Jake's sister Kristina. Jake leans on Josh often as he is married and Jake will admit, although not to Josh's face that Josh is very wise in basically all things!

Kristina is Jake's older sister. She is the most kind, genuine, caring, &amp; fun future sister-in-law/momma ever! She &amp; Bridget trained Jake well &amp; Katelin thanks them dearly for that;)

Jill is the lovely wife of Jake's best man, Dylan. She has welcomed Katelin into the Omaha/MM crowd and has become a great friend!!
