Like most couples nowadays, Justin and Katelyn met each other online. Unlike most couples, this was not through a commonly used dating app. In August of 2021, Katelyn's Facebook account was hacked, leaving her to create a new one from scratch. Upset at first for losing 12 years of memories on the social media platform, she began adding people who she believed to have been friends with on her old account -- Justin was one of these people. After posting a selfie that same day, Justin noticed a like from Katelyn and clicked on her profile trying to figure out who she was. He noticed her smile and the way that looking at her profile picture gave him peace and a very confusing feeling that he was safe, as he had never met her before. He messaged Katelyn, "Do I know you? From Chapin?" and Katelyn proceeded to clarify that she didn't think they had met, but she did know of an Annabelle Snowden she had gone to school with and discovered that this was Justin's sister. Since this confirmed that Justin was indeed a real person, Katelyn felt comfortable talking with him further when he messaged her a few days later after she had explained they hadn't met before.

After talking for a month and a half and only going on 2 dates due to the distance between Easley and Chapin, Justin asked Katelyn to be his girlfriend on October 13, 2021. In April of 2022, Justin moved from Chapin to Easley to live with Katelyn. The two have experienced many of life's ups and downs during their 3 years together and through this, determined the strength of their relationship and ever-growing love. We'd say that's worth losing a Facebook account over.
