Alex and Katelyn met while studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Katelyn first noticed Alex when he arrived late to their animal physiology class, she later matched with him on social media.

After a not so perfect first date, Alex and Katelyn continued their friendship through studying for their mutual class virtually (due to COVID-19) - Katelyn was tutoring Alex, of course!

Multiple dog walking dates later (with Finn and Buddy), Alex and Katelyn’s friendship turned into a relationship. During their first year, they hiked all North Carolina State Parks with their dogs and visited all NC lighthouses.

Alex and Katelyn love and are loved by their families and friends. They enjoy spontaneous adventures with their dogs, but also love endless cuddles from their two cats (Sushi and Wasabi)!

Alex asked Katelyn to marry him on April 15th, 2023 at Bodie Lighthouse in the Outer Banks. She said yes!
