Katie and Trent met at work, where they are both paramedics with Sussex County EMS. They quickly discovered that they both share the love of being outdoors, traveling and trying new restaurants. Their love of food stemmed from their first date, when Trent asked Katie to accompany him to Saketumi for sushi. Not realizing that this was Trent's first time eating real sushi, Katie dared him to eat the whole ball of wasabi... to which he eagerly did, and then instantly regretted. Afterwards, Katie was still hungry and the pair went for a romantic dinner at Applebee's, where Trent learned he would spend the rest of his life feeding a girl who stays hungry 24/7.

Trent proposed to Katie in the kitchen of her Mommom's home, where they had spent several months renovating in anticipation of living there. The kitchen of their new home is Katie's favorite part of the renovation and Trent secretly hired Cassidy Mister (Katie's best friend and professional photographer) to capture the moment!
