Our Wedding

In 2012 our lives changed forever thanks to my brother Robert and Matt's cousin Sam. On a dinner date Sam (Matts cousin) asked Matt :"If he was single? " Which then lead her to come to the conclusion that she knew someone for him. Then Robert was contacted and he contacted me to check out this guy named Matt Riggins on Facebook. By the end of the famous set-up dinner Matt knew he had to contact me via Facebook. We chatted on Facebook for a few days which then lead to texting. We met on the Saturday before school started at a Starbucks in Wylie. We met at 11 o'clock and didn't leave till the late afternoon. In that moment I had a feeling we were starting something amazing.

How We Met....

Matt and I talked about the engagement process and how I wanted to be proposed to. He wanted to make everything perfect in my eyes. When it comes to proposals I wanted it to be low key and preferably just the two of us. So when the day came for the proposal Matt had a day planned full of things that are important in our story. The day of the proposal we started out at lunch at On The Boarder one of our restaurants when we first started dating. Then we went to go see Ghostbusters at the theater that we had our first date at. Then to throw me off on the day we went to get his hair cut. Which then lead us to get Starbucks since we met at a Starbucks. Matt made me dinner (which never happens) and it was delicious. He then told me that he had a few surprises for me which then lead me to sitting on the couch. On the coach I was sitting with my eyes shut nearly to tears knowing this could be the moment. I open my eyes to a large box full of school supplies. He then went on to tell me about how he wanted to make me a Back to School box since I have made him one every year before that. Matt has me shut my eyes once more and then I am thinking to myself : "Am I really crying over a Back to School BOX?" or is the next part really it. Then he goes on and on about how amazing I am (private stuff but I am amazing) then I open my eyes to him down on one knee. I can hardly think because I'm crying so much. I was so overjoyed when it was my turn and I said: "YES".

Alexis and I lived on the same size of York County most of our lives but our lives never really connected until the summer after Junior year. Senior year lead to a bond over our dreams about going to WVU. We are one of the rare college roommates that get to say that they lived together all four years. Living with the same person all throughout college lead to a bond that will never go away. Alexis is my Maid of Honor because she wakes up early which leads us to eating breakfast together, we have a passion for breakfast food, we have a way of having a good time anywhere we go like a mall when we somehow don't ever make it into a movie which is the only reason we even planned on going to the mall for (inside story) and for our love of sporting events. Get ready to be amazed to see how awesome her speech is. 

Alexis Harmon Barbour

Brittany and I had a variety of classes together throughout high school. We bonded over random adventures we would go on in high school. When Brittany made the decision to go to WVU I was so grateful to have her. My favorite part of our friendship was my sophomore year of college. Brittany and I were trying to be like adults making dinner together learning from each other. We also had Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Chick-fil-A Wednesdays together. On occasion if we go to  Chick-fil-A on a Wednesday we always have to contact each other. Brittany is in my bridal party because our friendship is one that can handle  thousands of miles apart but yet every time we see each other it doesn't feel like it's been  that long. 

Brittany Hildebrand 

Lindsey is my cousin and we have always had a connection. I think it might have started with our amazingly similar good looks. We both like to act silly and act like kids when we are together. My favorite thing to do when I visit PA is to spend the night in her room on her floor (she has a sweet set-up with  a chair that folds out to make a bed cushion) and we will watch old movies together. Lindsey always goes out of her way to see me and she would even ride to the airport drop off and pick-up time when I was going to visit my parents in college. Lindsey is in my wedding because I can't imagine her not in my wedding. She is the most supportive person for me and I know I can always count on her. 

Lindsey Matson 

Shannon and I bonded in high school over Chorus plus Atmospheric Science. Shannon also came to visit WVU during my Freshman year and she feel in love with the town. Having Shannon at WVU was always a blast and she was someone who I could be completely myself with. The biggest moments when it comes to Shannon would be just how much I lived over at her apartment especially on Thursday nights in college. Shannon is in my wedding because college would not have been the same if I didn't have her. 

Shannon St. Pierre 

Sydney and I created a friendship over having so many classes together in high school. We were lucky enough when I graduated college and I moved to Texas to be with my parents the same year she moved to Texas. Having Sydney here the first few years that I lived here was like having a little piece of home here in Texas. I am so grateful for that time. Sydney is in my bridal party because she is a friend I can always count on and she was a friend that was around at the beginning of my relationship with Matt.
