Their friendship started with Sammy coming over to do puzzles with Katelyn way back in June of 2022. It was from there that Katelyn learned he didn't really know how to cook. Then they began "cooking lessons".

Katelyn began teaching Sammy how to cook in August of 2022. He would come over and they would go to the grocery store together to get the ingredients. Then Katelyn would teach him how to make the recipes. At this point, most of Katelyn's friends were making jokes that they were already dating, but Sammy and Katelyn thought nothing of it.

They officially started dating! For their first date Sammy took Katelyn axe throwing because she didn't want to go out to dinner. After that they went to Tap House for drinks! Safe to say the date went well.

They spent all summer going to friends weddings. They are always the last couple to leave the dance floor. Some of Katelyn's favorite memories with Sammy are from dancing at weddings together.

They took their first vacation with Katelyn's family to Hawaii!!

Sammy proposed to Katelyn! They spent the afternoon decorating a Christmas tree at Sammy's house. They were getting ready to go out to dinner and Sammy told Katelyn they forgot to put up one of the ornaments. The box said "smells like a Chief's touchdown" so Katelyn thought nothing of it. But when she opened the box she found a big blue ornament that said "will you marry me?" and turned around to find Sammy down on one knee. What a happy day!
