March 22, 2013: Castaways Club in Detroit Lakes, MN

Katelyn and Isaac went to different high schools and churches in the St. Cloud, MN area. They both signed up to go to Castaways Club, which was a camp through each of their churches. They met on the bus ride up, as the churches decided to ride together. It was a fun-filled weekend, and even though Isaac remembers a lot about Katelyn, Katelyn remembers little about Isaac. Katelyn told Isaac he was a cute boy-next-door kind of guy, but he didn't pursue anything because he was a junior and she was a freshman. They kept in touch through social media, but that was the extent of their friendship at that time.

March 2022

Almost 10 years later, Isaac was scrolling through social media when he saw a photo posted of a beautiful sunset. Without checking to see who posted it, he asked the individual where the photo was taken. This person turned out to be Katelyn, who responded that it was taken in Lake of the Ozarks, MO. They began to catch up, which soon turned to talking on a regular basis. Through traveling, faith, and other mutual interests, their friendship grew.

July 2022

Katelyn decided to make the first move since Isaac was dragging his feet and told Isaac she was intrigued by him (yes intrigued... What if he said no?!) Katelyn and Isaac began seeing each other as more than friends. 6-hour long FaceTime calls and visiting each other as often as possible soon turned into Isaac moving down to Auburn, AL to be closer to Katelyn.

June 2023

On June 3rd, Isaac took Katelyn on a walk on their favorite path in Auburn. When they reached their bridge, he had a bouquet of red roses waiting and asked Katelyn to be his wife. They are excited for the journey of life as husband and wife!
