Jeff's brother, Greg, spends the winter months in Puerto Rico, so when he was coming home at the beginning of April, it was necessary to celebrate. Lunch was arranged at the National Harbor in DC with Jeff, Kate, Greg, Linda, and Andy. That morning, Jeff told Kate that the Joyce's were running late. Naturally Kate took that as an opportunity to mess around and make sure there was a Dunkin stop on the way, much to Jeff's annoyance.

The whole drive down, Jeff was adamant that Kate not touch his phone. She thought he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but little did she know, he was texting everyone to make sure they were in place.

When Jeff and Kate arrived at the National Harbor, amidst a Peep festival, Jeff suggested they walk down by the water since his parents were "still running late." Kate wanted to go shopping, but Jeff insisted. As the two of them walked down a pier, Jeff pointed out something at the end that they had to go check out. At the end of the pier, Jeff got down on one knee and asked Kate to marry him! Obviously she said yes! Not only did Jeff have his family there, but he also arranged for Kate's parents and brother to be there as well, so that everyone could celebrate together.

Jeff and Kate actually knew each other for a while before they started dating. Kate played lacrosse for the Women's Club team and Jeff played for the Men's Club team at Towson. The two teams had a lot of events and parties together, but it wasn't until Kate's senior year (Jeff's junior year) that anything happened between the two. That was when Kate became the supervisor of Jeff's lacrosse team at work. Then Jeff would drive Kate home from their Friday meetings on his scooter, and the rest is history as they say!
