Katelyn and Daniel were introduced by a mutual friend, Declan. After messaging for a few days, Katelyn got the courage to ask Daniel to meet. Daniel was going to Missinabi to work for 3 months. Katelyn and Daniel spent every day talking until they met halfway in Sudbury. A month later, Daniel came back to Barrie, and they have been inseparable since.

Katelyn moved to Barrie in March 2023 where they got their first apartment together, then in August Daniel proposed at Killbear Provincial Park.
