Q + A

Where is the venue?

Oakleaf Cottage is located 22 miles (25 mins drive) southwest of Chattanooga, TN and 2 miles (5 mins drive) east of Trenton, GA in the Appalachian Mountains. The venue is surrounded by forest and situated on the mountainside abutting Cloudland Canyon State Park.

How do I get to the venue?

You have options! (1) If you'd like to drive, there is a small parking lot located at the base of the driveway up to the venue. (2) If you'd like to catch a ride on the group shuttle, the driver will be picking up attendees from the block hotel locations (The Read House; Fairfield Inn & Suites in East Chattanooga). All attendees will be driven from the lower parking lot up to the wedding site by venue staff via small van-style shuttles. (3) If you plan to use a ride share service, *only Lyft* is available in this area, and pick up from the venue at the end of the event MUST be scheduled in advance.

When should I book my lodging?

We're very glad you asked! It turns out that the Head of the Hooch, a 2-day rowing regatta held annually in Chattanooga, is scheduled for the same weekend as our wedding. We encourage you to book accommodation as early as possible. See our travel page for recommendations!

Is the wedding outside?

The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors (weather permitting). Average November temperatures tend to range from mid 30s as the low to low 60s as the high. Oakleaf Cottage is located in the mountains, so it may be wise to plan on bringing a coat/shawl/etc. But don't worry, the barn where the reception will be held is heated!

Can children come?

Unfortunately, the wedding venue does not allow children, so the ceremony and reception will be adult-only. However, your kids are welcome to attend the welcome reception and brunch events.
