Katherin and Kaadir were both nerds who volunteered to staff the same Model United Nations (MUN) conference together in Atlanta in 2021.

During staff training, Kaadir saw Katherin from across the room and noticed how she was the prettiest girl there. He decided he had to talk to her.

Kaadir's sense of humor and very few niche Spanish words instantly made an impact on Katherin and they exchanged numbers at the end of the conference. Although Katherin was in Atlanta and Kaadir was in DC, they talked every day for hours after Kaadir slid into her dms with a funny cat meme.

After talking for some time, their relationship became official. After almost three years of long distance, Katherin decided to make the move up to DC.

Not even a few months later, Kaadir surprised Katherin with a proposal at the Botanical Gardens overlooking the Capitol in DC, and they became engaged on November 23, 2024.

They are now looking forward to taking the next step in front of all of their loved ones.
