Vincent and Katherina both attended Stevens Institute of Technology and majored in Chemical Engineering. She was very lazy and Vincent ensured she attended class on time, gave her study materials, and used his food vouchers to ensure she had breakfast every day.
Katherina would force feed Vincent Asian food in the name of "expanding his culinary horizons" (she just wanted Asian food). He went from hating sushi to loving bulalo (Filipino Bone Marrow Soup), sundubu jjigae, and sashimi.
In their 10 years together, Katherina and Vincent have both shifted careers four times, supporting each other as they explored different industries. They've traveled to over nine different countries together, and hope to travel to two more before their wedding.
Katherina has always dreamed about working in Singapore. Wanting to support her goals, Vincent booked a nice dinner in Saint Pierre, overlooking Marina Bay Sands. He intended to propose after dinner, but the ring had fallen out of his pocket on the taxi over! Chef Emmanuel Stroobant, feeling terrible about the experience, made a ring out of aluminum and garnish. It made for a memorable and hilarious night, and thankfully, the taxi driver found the ring and returned it the next morning.
