On 6.22.22 I asked Kate to make things official. Fun fact, that's actually how we decided on our wedding date! After realizing that our "dating anniversary" backwards, 2.22.26, aligned with our timeline, we were sold!

After a few months of dating, Jack deployed to Okinawa. He spent over six months overseas, so I was more than ready when the time came to bring his squadron home.

Well, we survived our first deployment! Kate was able to wait in our hangar on base while my plane descended. It's hard to put into words the feeling of seeing her after half a year of being apart, but this hug was the BEST!!

I was fully convinced I would know everything going on the day Jack proposed. Boy was I wrong! On Sunday, Jack took me to Anastasia State Park and surprised me with a hundred white roses lining the romantic setup he envisioned. There was champagne, custom glasses, and a beautiful sign saying "Will you marry me?". Jack had my best friend (& incredibly talented photographer) fly in from Texas to capture the entire thing somehow without me knowing! Then, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife... surprise, I said yes!
