How We Met

Andrew and I first met as part of a small class of electrical engineers at Grove City College in freshman year! By sophomore year we were a sparky class of 8. Here's sparky dinner at Elephant 8 Thai.

Roberta

Our first group project was together working on a robotic arm in Intro to Engineering in our first semester. We worked closely together over the next few years through joining several of the same extra-curricular activities…

Media Services Techs

We both joined Media Services and ran AV equipment for lots of campus events. Here we ran projection and audio together when former Attorney General Bill Barr gave a talk on campus.

ROV Research Projects

We joined related research projects, where we both worked with GCC’s underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for sensing applications.

IEEE Exec

We also joined the leadership team for GCC’s student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)—a long name for the electrical engineers club.

Warriors

We became closer friends when we started working Warriors for Christ together in Junior year. Students meet every Thursday night for worship, and we got to hang out and talk while running sound during the hours of rehearsal. As time went on, this became a highlight of every week.

Dating!

Andrew started joining my friend group on our adventures, and after a very long situationship… we started dating at the end of Junior Year!

Families Meet

Our families met up over Fall break in Andrew’s hometown the following school year. Here’s a picture from a waterfall at Ringing Rocks park.

Sickly Hike

Here’s a picture from hiking in Morraine State Park. We were both sick, but decided to go hiking anyway…

Engaged!

Andrew surprised me by flying in early, and proposed in my backyard on January 1st 2024!

California Adventures

While visiting Cali after we got engaged, we did some sight seeing, including going on a trip to Tahoe with my family.

Sugar Hollow

Visiting Sugar Hollow (the Bergey family cabin) with some friends over Spring break.

Niagara Falls

We also went to Niagara to see the Falls!

Eclipse

Saw the total eclipse at Abby and Joel’s in Ohio.

Graduation

Another milestone, we graduated on May 18th!

Florida Visit

Snorkeling down Rainbow Springs in Florida visiting Amy and Derek recently in June.

Where we’re headed…

Andrew and I will both be graduate research students at the University of Washington in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Andrew going for his PhD and myself going for my master's. We won’t overlap much since we’re joining different research labs, but we’ll be moving down to Seattle together after the wedding!
