Q + A

What is the dress code?

Please dress to impress in your best cocktail attire! We recommend that men wear a suit or dress shirt with a tie, and women wear a midi- or knee-length dress, or dressy separates. For women: kindly avoid wearing white or shades of white to respect the bride. For men: please refrain from wearing tracksuits or shorts. Hats and nice sneakers are welcome!

What time should I arrive?

Help us kick off the celebration on time! We recommend arriving by 4:00 pm to enjoy welcome drinks and mingle. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 pm, so we kindly ask that guests arrive early and be seated before the start.

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place? Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at The Grandview! The ceremony will be outdoors and will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. The reception will follow shortly after in the Outdoor Tent. In case of rain, both the ceremony and reception will be moved to the Outdoor Tent. As the event date approaches, we will provide updates on the weather and confirm whether the ceremony will be held outside. You can find updates on the "Home" page.

Is smoking allowed?

Although our ceremony will be outside, we kindly ask that guests refrain from smoking anywhere on the venue grounds, as there is a policy prohibiting it. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

The Grandview offers plenty of FREE parking. :) You can access both the Outdoor Tent and ceremony space directly from the parking lot, so we highly recommend parking on the right side of the lot.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Feel free to take as many pictures and videos as you'd like! We kindly ask that phones be silenced during the ceremony and first dances to minimize distractions and that photographers and videographers have clear paths while they work. During the reception, we’ll have a QR code where you can upload your pictures and videos to our shared drive. Look out for the "Capture the Love" signs to find the QR code for submissions!

What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking photos nearby. In the meantime, guests are invited to head straight to the tent to enjoy butler-style hors d'oeuvres, cocktail stations, and an open bar during cocktail hour.

Will you have an open bar?

Yes! We will have an open bar during both cocktail hour and the reception. Our bartenders will be checking photo IDs to ensure all guests enjoying alcoholic beverages are 21 or older. Please drink responsibly and be sure to arrange transportation or accommodations as needed.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

We will be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entree. There will be a beef, poultry, seafood and vegetarian entree option available. There will also be gluten-free and vegan options available during cocktail hour.

What if I have dietary restrictions and/or food allergies?

We plan on including vegan, vegetarian, gluten and nut-free options to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions and/or allergies. Please be sure to check in with the servers if you have an allergy to confirm what is in the dish prior to eating it. If you have additional restrictions that go beyond what we've listed here, please let us know in the designated section of your digital RSVP. We want you to feel comfortable and well fed!

Are kids welcome?

We would love for your little ones to help make our day special! Guests with tiny humans will already have their children included on the invitation. Please be sure to note their names and ages on the RSVP. We kindly ask that children remain seated and help keep noise to a minimum during the ceremony and first dances. For safety reasons, children cannot be left unattended, as another wedding will be happening nearby. Thank you for your cooperation!

Can I bring a plus one?

To help us stay within our budget, we have a strict RSVP-only guest list and can only accommodate those listed on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding and support!

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Guests can easily RSVP right here on our wedding website! The deadline for RSVPs is July 10th, 2026. If you received a mailed invitation, it will include a QR code to RSVP online. If you encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Katherine or Devin. We truly hope you can join us, and kindly ask that all RSVPs be submitted by the deadline, as we won’t be able to accommodate late responses.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

We have reserved a block of rooms at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Poughkeepsie for Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th. For more details, please visit the "Travel" tab.

What should I do if I don't make it into the room block?

If you miss the deadline to reserve a room in our block, reach out to the hotel and mention our wedding anyway- they may be able to accommodate you with our discount in a room outside of our block. If not, you can find additional nearby accommodations on the "Travel" tab.

Will transportation be provided?

We kindly request that all guests make their own transportation arrangements to and from the venue. We’re so happy you’re celebrating with us and want everyone to party safely & responsibly!

Do you have any recommendations for where to eat, points of interest or things to do?

Absolutely! Be sure to check out the "Things to Do" tab on our wedding website, where we've put together a list of our favorite local spots and fun activities to enjoy before or after the wedding.

Could you give me a link to your wedding registry?

You can find our complete wedding registry here on our website (and purchase directly from our wish list) under the "Registry" tab.

Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home. Please reach out to Katherine or Devin for the address. A wedding card box will be at our reception.

I still have questions. What is the best way to contact you?

If you have any questions that aren't answered on our wedding website, don't hesitate to reach out to Katherine or Devin. We look forward to celebrating with you soon!
