Derek and I first crossed paths in 2010 when he reached out to a friend of mine to set us up. Even though we were young, I remember the excitement of meeting him for the first time! I was hooked from the beginning.

Our relationship blossomed (and faltered some - let's be honest) through the highs and lows of high school, creating many memories together and with our friends. Those early years were a mix of joy, growth, and a sprinkle of teenage heartbreak, ultimately laying a strong foundation for our future.

College brought its own set of challenges as we attended different schools, but our bond only strengthened. After graduation, we moved in together, marking a new chapter in our journey. Derek became my support system as I started graduate school, always adding happiness and light when I needed it.

In March of 2024, we bought our first home together - a place we instantly adored and love coming home to every day. A few weeks after moving in, while on a walk around our new neighborhood, Derek took my hand, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. His proposal was sweet and kind, and filled me with such happiness. Although we'd both known for years that we were meant for each other, I will never forget the bliss of that moment. Of course, I said YES!

Now we're cherishing this engagement season with so much excitement and anticipation for our future together. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support we've received from our family and friends, who have played significant roles in our lives and relationship.
