Over 22 acres were developed for educational and bee production purposes. The property also grows hops, lavender, vegetables, herbs and fruits for use in the brewing process and to support the needs of Empire's downtown brewpub in Syracuse.
Located just a skip and a hop from our reception, we recommend stopping in to this family-owned artisan distillery as part of your Cazenovia Beverage trail journey! Located on a 200-year old historic farm called, "The Maples", the distillery sits on the family's 90-acre farm which features pure Marcellus-shale spring water. The distillery is hosted in a 5,000-square-foot rustic barn featuring a production area replete with a 200-gallon copper still pot made in Germany, two tasting rooms, and spectacular views of the farm.

The Critz Farms Brewing and Cider Company specializes in the production of handcrafted hard ciders and farm brewed beers made in small batches grown here on their farm. They serve a variety of ten different hard ciders ranging from dry to sweet as well as several seasonal ciders. Their developing beer portfolio includes four to six styles that they consistently offer as well as unique small batches of experimental brews.
A picturesque 167-foot waterfall is the main attraction of Chittenango Falls State Park! Glacial sculpting over 400 million-year-old bedrock is responsible for this scenic feature. Activities include fishing, hiking, and picnicking. This is the bride and groom's favorite place to take a quick hike when visiting Cazenovia.
Situated on one of Central New York's earliest settled communities and majestically overlooking Cazenovia Lake, Lorenzo State Historic Site offers an opportunity to discover the imprint of five generations of the Lincklaen/Ledyard family. Established in 1807 as the neoclassical home of John Lincklaen, Holland Land Company ages agent and founder of Cazenovia, Lorenzo was continually occupied by the family until the property was conveyed to New York State in 1968. Lorenzo is the jewel of Cazenovia.
