Imanuel Gonzales and Katherine Hansen, first met in 2016 at a billiards hall in Petaluma. Her dad and cousin knew "Man" from a few years before and introduce him to "Kat". During that introduction, Kat said she completely forgot her name for a moment and got very embarrassed, knowing she had just been "shot by cupid's arrow"!

Their relationship started with a friendship only, texting and hanging out at the billiards until 2017 when they finally started officially dating!

While Man lived in Sonoma, Kat lived in Sebastopol, so there was a lot of driving back and forth for a few years while they dated. They enjoyed just hanging out, camping, fishing and other outdoor activities.

In 2021 they moved into a cute little apartment in Sonoma together. They enjoyed buying things for their home and making their little space unique for them. Katherine continued to commute to Santa Rosa for school and work, teaching gymnastics at SRGC, while Man continued his work as a plumber out of Sonoma.

The couple often spoke and dreamed about getting married, but Imanuel was adamant about only doing so after she graduated college. Man admits that he started to plan the proposal about a year before he actually popped the question.

On a hot summers day when Kat's mom, brother and step dad were enjoying the pool at their complex, Man mentioned how cool it would be to take a trip to Nashville. So Kat and her mom Darcie, started planning the vacation that unbeknownst to them, would turn into a unique proposal.

In May of 2023, Katherine graduated from the Santa Rosa Junior College with her AA in Art and Fashion Design and well as a few Fashion Design Certificates. Kat took a full time job at a local boutique in Sonoma called WildeFlower.

Imanuel was continuing to be very successful as a journeyman plumber and was working his way up in the company as well as working on his long time "Cool-Man" project. (To be revealed at a later time).

In June of 2023 the family finally went to Nashville! This trip included not only Kat and Man, but also Darcie and brother Eric. During the trip they saw many fun and memorable places and things including a trip to Graceland, Hiking to Cummins Falls and of course.... the Grand Ole Opry.

On June 28th in front of the Grand Ole Opry, Imanuel went down on one knee and proposed to Katherine. Darcie and Eric were excited witnesses taking video's and pictures of this very special moment. Katherine of course said yes through happy tears and the couple got congratulated by many passing spectators!

Later that evening Katherine and Darcie realized that June 28th was also her Grandparents wedding anniversary. Imanuel did not know this at the time but they both agree that it just makes that day even more special!

Man placed his grandmothers beautiful and unique ring on Katherines finger, while he will wear his grandfathers wedding ring, bringing his families heirlooms full circle to start a new love story with these vintage rings.

They are excited to share their special day with family and friends and are looking forward to starting another chapter to their forever!
