Jack and I first met in elementary school but reconnected our sophomore year of high school. I heard he was moving to Oakland and immediately reached out to him. I'd always thought he was super cute! We were good friends and I joked with him that if I won homecoming I'd ask him to be my date. He took it on as a challenge and rallied our class to vote for me. When I found out I'd won I honored my promise and asked him to be my escort. We had so much fun together but went our separate ways afterwards. Both of us got in different relationships but we stayed close friends at school.

Fast forward a couple of years and we were both single and in search of a prom date. Jack and I had been hanging out (but I told him often we were just friends). I agreed to go to prom with him, but I was nervous he would get the wrong idea and think I was into him. Turns out he was nervous too. So nervous that he left his car running the entire time we were eating dinner! I started to fall in love with Jack as the night went on but hadn't admitted it to myself yet. Jack will tell you that I couldn't look him in the eyes during our slow dance. I was scared he was going to kiss me!

After graduation, Jack and I ended up on the same beach for our senior trips. My girls trip quickly turned into me meeting up with Jack to go to dinner and walk on the beach (sorry lily!). We had our first kiss and the rest was history.

This moment was an important piece of our story. Jack convinced me to hike a fourteener with him in Colorado, and for some reason, I agreed. We got stuck at the summit during a storm, and our situation quickly became perilous. This experience made us truly realize that we can not live without each other!

Yay! We graduated! Jack and I went to different schools but we took a picture in our cap and gowns together to capture this chapter of our lives.

On July, 26th we got engaged outside of Windsor Castle in England. This was a fairytale come true. We cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together!
