Will and Kat first met at K-State when Will drove up for the weekend from KU to celebrate his high school friend’s birthday while Kat was at the same place celebrating some of her closest college friends. Throughout the night, Will and Kat found themselves talking and the conversation flowed like they had known each other for years! After the weekend passed, Kat kept thinking about how much fun she had talking to Will and reached out to him to see if he would come to her next date party. Before you knew it, Will was back in Manhattan for the date party &amp; even came back the following weekend to take Kat out to dinner.&nbsp; Shortly after a few back and forth trips on I-70, campus shut down for the spring semester from the pandemic. Kat and Will spent countless hours face-timing and grew their connection during these months. Eventually that summer, they both moved back to their college towns &amp; officially started to date!&nbsp; For the rest of their senior year, Kat and Will took turns visiting each other’s college towns while doing long distance. They had so much fun meeting new friends and experiencing their senior year together!&nbsp; Following graduation, Kat and Will's connection grew stronger. Kat started teaching while Will began working on his PHD in neuroscience at KU med. Through it all, they have been each other’s biggest support system. Through the endless movie nights, dinner dates, family trips, and celebrations, Kat and Will have made so many memories together. Kat and Will moved in together in June to Downtown KC and have enjoyed exploring the city and making their place a home. On July 28th, Will and Kat were taking their annual family trip with the Hauser’s to Grand Lake, Colorado. Will told Kat they were taking family pictures early that morning. They were told to go ahead of the rest of the family to find the photographer while the rest of the family finished getting ready. Once there, Will got down and asked Kat to marry him in the scenic mountains of Colorado - the best day of their lives so far! Will also had another surprise for Kat - he had her family meet them in Colorado and they surprised her following the engagement, turning the week into a joint family trip to celebrate.&nbsp; We cannot wait to begin this next chapter of our lives together! Thank you to our friends and family who have been there every step of the way - We love you!
