Our Story

A Unique Love Story

Picture of A Unique Love Story

The story of how we met is one for the books. I (Katherine) had walked into the Sullivans Supper Club to meet a friend of mine. As I walked in I was immediately greeted with a "Hey Meow" from the one and only Mitch Waldera. He had been told that a friend named 'Kat' would be coming to hang out at the Supper Club around closing time. He made quite the first impression to say the least.

After I had visited the supper club a few times, I decided I would add Mitch on Facebook, since I had been seeing him around. Mitchell's response to my friend request was a classic sarcastic message of: "What makes you think we can be friends?" I responded by deleting my friend request. Mitch very quickly sent me another message, and realized very quickly I was not easily messed with. After many messages back and forth I agreed to hang out with him at the Riverside Park, but refused to call it a date. Well our walk went on for hours, and eventually lead to us driving around town, seeing the bluffs, and laughing a lot.

Mitch eventually asked me to be his girlfriend, but I turned him down. Mitch was determined to prove that he was different from anyone else I had ever met. And persistence, kindness, and ability to make me laugh won me over.

Since then we have been through a lot together... Mitch encouraged me to go back to school to get my teaching degree, and he started down a new career path in sales. Together we moved from Holmen to the city of Chippewa Falls. We both started new jobs and eventually bought our first home together. Eventually we added our spoiled pup Ellie to the family. Our life together has been nothing short of an adventure with A LOT of laughter. It is safe to say that our favorite part of being together is that we can be completely ourselves as we shout lyrics to song out of pitch, tease each other endlessly, and bicker as if we are already married.

After 7+ years together Mitch and I became engaged at the top of Cadillac Mountain in Bar Harbor, Maine. We are so excited for the new adventures to come, and are incredibly excited to celebrate our story in the city where it all began.
