The invisible string theory: A concept suggesting that two people destined to be together are connected by an unseen force, regardless of distance or circumstance.

Our story began long before initial face-to-face conversations, social media interactions, or exchanged phone numbers. In fact, unbeknownst to us, our story began based upon educational decisions that were perceived as simply career development. Eventually, our perceived career developing decisions led us to something much more impactful than a Master's Degree, career opportunities, and a steady income- it led us to one another.

Our initial interaction at Ohio University in 2021 would not be characterized as “love at first sight.” In fact, we were unfamiliar graduate peers studying to become speech-language pathologists. Our clinical instructor deemed us as co-treating student clinicians for a new clinic patient. So, our initial interactions were rooted in conversation and text messages outlining clinical planning and treatment strategies that ensured a passing grade and continuation of our degree. Well, our clinical patient never attended a single treatment session, and what began as a treatment session turned into an opportunity to familiarize ourselves with one another within a closet-sized treatment space surrounded by toddler toys.

Following a few more unattended treatment sessions, Jonah became interested in familiarizing himself with Katie outside of a peer-to-peer basis. Conversations and interactions between us became more frequent at social gatherings and events outside of the classroom, eventually leading to our first date on December 16th, 2023, at Milestone 229 and Franklin Park Conservatory. Since then, we have been inseparable, with intentions of learning, growing, and loving one another. We have experienced countless life events together with no plans of leaving each other behind, eventually leading to the most recent development in our story--Jonah proposing to Katie on June 13th, 2025.

On June 27th, 2026, our story continues through making the ultimate commitment to one another. We are elated to embark on this next chapter, and we cannot wait to celebrate this day with you!
