Katie & Matt met on Hinge in July of 2020. After talking for a few days, Matt asked Katie out on a date, and the two met at a Chuy’s for dinner. On September 19, 2020 the two “officially” became a couple. In August of 2022, they moved into their first apartment together. Over the years Katie & Matt have taken several trips together, traveling to Indiana, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee together. Katie & Matt can often be seen together playing games, having movie marathons, or working on puzzles. Currently, the couple own two pets together—Grace, a tabby cat, and Saura, a crested gecko.

On a trip to Florida in 2023 with the Mullins family, Matt planned to propose. Initially, he had wanted to propose on the beach near where the family was staying. However, the area felt too busy and commercialized. Instead, he looked up some nice areas for a nature hike and settled on Ponce Preserve. The park is home to an oak tree that is over 350 years old. Matt felt that would be the perfect location for the proposal, and it was!

Katie grew up in Kettering and now lives in Miamisburg, OH. She graduated from Wright State University in 2020 with a BA in English with a literature concentration. In 2023, she graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Masters of Library and Information Science. Since 2016, Katie has worked for the Dayton Metro Library at their Kettering-Moraine branch. Katie loves drawing, knitting, reading, and video games, as well as spending time with friends and family and traveling.

Matt grew up in Springboro, and currently lives in Miamisburg, OH. He graduated from Miami University in 2018 with a Masters in Computer Science. He spent a year living and working in Miami, FL before returning to Ohio. He has worked as a software developer for London Computer System since February 2020. Matt enjoys reading, watching movies, and games of all sorts!

In 2018, Katie adopted a crested gecko from a local Pet Supplies Plus and named her Saura. Katie spent well over a decade begging her parents to let her have a lizard, and for Christmas that year they finally relented. In 2019, Matt adopted Grace from the Humane Society of Greater Miami in Florida. He knew she would be the perfect cat as soon as he laid eyes on her. The two pets have lived harmoniously since Katie and Matt moved in together.
