Back in 2012 we met through mutual friends… then life kept on going. Six years later, at The Burger Social, you could hear someone screaming “Joe Bird” at any given moment. That’s quite a distinctive name, but it had been six years. Also, one of us had grown a huge beard and 3 feet of hair off their head (it was Joe, Kat looked the same) so it was hard to put a finger on how we had met and when. Finally, one of those mutual friends wanted to say hello after so long, we too said hello to one another. After realizing how long it had been since we had met and how many friends we had in common we were excited to see each other again. With Joe working at the Wheaton Meat company and living right down the street in downtown Wheaton, we started to see each other often. In August of 2018 we became us. After almost 7 years of loving each other endlessly we will be taking our next step together. We have spent these years growing, learning and discovering who we are and who we want to be. We have overcome challenges and embraced the beauty all around us. We have loving support systems, family and friends who inspire and teach us every day. We bring into our marriage open minds, full hearts and a lot of love. Not only is our relationship filled with love for one another but also, a friendship that is one of a kind. It is with this mindset we will travel into our next adventure surrounded by those that we love who have gotten us here today! Here’s to a lifetime of love, joy and compassion.
