The Best of New Orleans

New Orleans is known for its iconic culinary traditions blending Cajun and Creole with traditional French, Italian and Irish dishes. Below are a few of our favorites within walking distance from the hotel blocks.

Meril

424 Girod St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA
(504) 526-3745

Great casual dining restaurant by Emeril Lagasse just around the corner from the Cambria Hotel. We love to go here for a casual meal or some great cocktails and light bites. The bar area is typically first come first serve and they have a great Happy Hour 2pm-6pm Fri-Sat.

PĂȘche Seafood Grill

800 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA
(504) 522-1744

Delicious local seafood restaurant near the Cambria Hotel. Would be a great option if you're in town before the wedding and need dinner plans. Recommend reservations in advance.

Gianna Restaurant

700 Magazine St #101, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA
(504) 399-0816

We have so many great memories at this Italian restaurant with both friends and family. They have a great menu and the "Feed Me" family style chefs choice is highly recommended whether you have a party of 4 or 10! Reservations recommended.

Mother's Restaurant

401 Poydras St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA
(504) 523-9656

Mother's is a New Orleans OG! Great option for breakfast. The line is always outs the door and down the block but if you get there at a decent time it goes fast. Once you're in you can sit down and enjoy New Orleans southern classics.

Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant

701 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA
(504) 523-8995

Lucy's is a New Orleans staple. Casual island themed bar with Cal-Mex menu options and an open courtyard area. Located down the street from the Cambria Hotel.

Willa Jean

611 O'Keefe Ave, New Orleans, LA 70113, USA
(504) 509-7334

This is one of Katherine's favorite brunch spots in the city. Willa Jean has great southern classics for breakfast/lunch or you can walk in for a coffee and croissant to go! They also have delicious frozen cocktail options and the chocolate chip cookie is AMAZING.

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA
(504) 528-1944

While not a restaurant, if you're spending more than one night in the city and love history, we highly recommend the WWII Museum! The D-Day landing crafts that were critical to the Normandy invasion were crafted in New Orleans by Higgins Industries. This is also special to the Reaney family as Katherine's grandfather was a superintendent during the war. We recommend a minimum of 4 hours to enjoy the museum.
