Melody is Kevin's daughter and the second most important person at the wedding, obviously following Kat. She fills our home with so much light and love, and we are honored to have her be a part of this incredible day. Mel creates so much joy in everyone's life.

Anne Marie isn’t just Kat’s sister, she’s her built-in best friend, partner in crime, and other half in a lifelong comedy duo. They share a treasure trove of inside jokes, dramatic reenactments, and spontaneous song-and-dance numbers that can erupt at any given moment. Their bond is deep, musical, theatrical, and wonderfully weird in all the best ways. As a librarian, Anne Marie knows a good story when she sees one, and she’s been lucky enough to be part of Kat’s from the very beginning.

Shannen and Kat met back at Wagner College and have been best friends since the very first day. From sunny days in Miami at the Robertsons' to countless laughs at Club Patti in Nanuet, their friendship has been filled with unforgettable moments. When Kat moved in with Shannen and her sister KelliAnne in Hoboken, the adventures only multiplied; NYC, Paris, Napa, Italy, Tulum, Naples, and even a little fun in Baltimore. Shannen is also close with Kevin, having bonded over their shared love of cooking and wine.

Santiago and Kat go back all the way to high school. They've grown through countless phases of life together, building a bond to stand the test of time and becoming chosen family. With trips across the globe, they’ve made memories that could fill a novel (or a travel blog!). Their friendship has traveled continents and survived every wild adventure, including Santiago’s spicy feline family addition Nala, and is still going strong!

Kaitlyn is Kevin's older sister. Kevin would have been the Man of Honor at her wedding if the pandemic had not messed that up, and Kaitlyn was supposed to be on Kat's side, but Kevin poached her. She has been an incredible part of both Kevin and Kat's lives. Kat + Kaitlyn = POOKIES 4EVA

Mikey is Kevin's first younger brother. He has lived in New York for the last few years, and while Kat was still living there, he developed his own relationship with her. Mikey and Kevin bond over music, movies, and art.

Sean is Kevin's youngest brother. Kevin concedes that Sean is the funniest Smith, something Kevin is very jealous of. He creates joy wherever he goes, and Kat and Kevin cannot wait for him to marry his Fiancée Vanessa.

Taty is Kat’s cousin, but more commonly referred to as “hermana” (sister). She was Kat’s rock through her mom’s illness and passing, and together they couldn’t go five minutes without cracking up over something ridiculous. These days, she’s also crushing it as “Mama” to baby Sebastian — better known to Kat as her favorite little “Poppy Seed.”

Julianne isn’t just Kat’s cousin, she’s basically her twin. They’ve been mistaken for sisters repeatedly, and they don’t mind. Kat and Julianne have always been close, but when Kat lived with Julianne and her husband, Adam, in Bloomington, the bond only deepened. These cousins are always down for anything, whether it’s busting moves in the living room, trying to outsmart the trivia host, belting out karaoke, or just hanging out in sweatpants. After Julianne’s daughter’s arrival, Kat has taken on her most important role yet: being the world’s best auntie to her "Blueberry." Some refer to her as Vivian.

Bryan and Kat have been inseparable (and occasionally insufferable to those around them) since their first day at Wagner College — though if you ask him, he hated her at first. Somewhere between surviving New York life together, spontaneous Jeep trips (especially offroading), and hurricane hideaways at his family’s home on Long Island, the two became family. Bryan even lived with Kat’s family in Miami one summer while interning — and the rest, as they say, is history. Through all the years, cities, and milestones, he’s been one of Kat’s truest constants, Queen Alyce's "Porcelain Doll" and Kat's “first husband” (depending on who you ask).

Sean and Kat first met in Italy on a Leadership Florida trip—a serendipitous meeting that could only happen under the Tuscan sun. Kat was there in her mom’s place, knowing only a handful of people, when Sean swept in with a bouquet for every lady at dinner. (He’s a florist, of course.) From that night on, the two were inseparable, and by the end of the trip, he was officially her "Italian husband.” Since then, their friendship has only blossomed—Sean has even been lending his floral expertise to help bring Kat’s wedding vision to life. Laughter is always a constant with these two.

Mindy may be a newer addition, but she quickly became family. Living right across the street from Kat and Kevin in Fort Lauderdale, she and her pup, Brooklyn, have become their favorite neighbors. Whether she’s joining in as the “third amigo” or helping with Mel and Stormy, Mindy has been there through it all. A true Brooklyn girl who’s made Florida home, she and Kat instantly bonded the moment Kat moved in (even though Kevin had been her neighbor for six months!). Now, she’s officially part of the crew—sometimes referred to as the third member of their couple… or their other child (since Mel is just about to pass her in height).
