Nick and Katherine clicked pretty instantaneously. They never had an awkward, get to know you stage. It did take them forever to go on a first date and then even longer for the second date. Their lives were on opposite schedules! But they talked every night on the phone, seeing each other when they could, until they hit that point when going weeks between seeing each other wasn’t going to cut it. They had fallen in love. They knew they wanted to see each other as much as possible, and so they did. The mileage was climbing and the road between Paducah and Dover became a familiar drive. After meeting Katherine’s son, Beau, Nick quickly fell in love with him, too. Seeing how well Beau and Nick clicked confirmed Katherine’s thoughts that she could marry this man. Beau was on the same page, telling his mom after a while, “I think we should marry Mr. Nick.” Thankfully, “Mr. Nick” was having the same thoughts, and had been telling his friends and family about this amazing woman and her hilarious little boy. So, on February 3, 2018, the question was asked, and the answer was yes!
