And so it goes…

On a quiet November night in 2023, two hearts connected with a swipe—Ben and Katherine, strangers brought together by the unpredictable magic of Facebook Dating. Ben was thoughtful and intentional, with a kind smile and a dry, over-the-head sense of humor that could turn any ordinary moment into something memorable. Katherine was warm and radiant, with a laugh that lingered in the air like a favorite song. Their first messages were simple: a compliment, a meme, a delayed “what are you up to?” But there was something about the way they spoke—effortlessly and sincerely—that felt different from anything either of them had known before. One December night, after talking for hours until the sun rose and feeling like no amount of time was ever enough, they met in person. From the shadows of her apartment doorway emerged Katherine—and Ben fell in love at first sight. That first date was filled with nervous excitement, shared stories, and a connection that made it feel like forever was quietly unfolding. From that night on, they were inseparable. Their love grew quietly and steadily—the kind that blossoms over early morning workouts, spontaneous road trips, late-night conversations on the couch, and the simple joy of being together. They learned each other’s quirks—Katherine’s habit of leaving cabinets and drawers open, and Ben’s trail of toothpaste in the sink and water cups scattered everywhere. They made space for each other’s dreams, fears, passions, and goals. And before long, they both knew: life just made more sense when lived side by side. On March 3, 2025, with a heart pounding out of his chest, Ben proposed—surrounded by a million butterflies, on a bucket-list trip Katherine had once mentioned in passing a year earlier. “Are you happy, little girl?” he asked. “I bet I can make it better.” Then he dropped to one knee. Katherine’s eyes filled with tears before he could even start his speech. He fumbled through the words, forgot half of what he wanted to say, stood up… and forgot to actually ask the question. Confused, Katherine laughed and said, “Well… are you going to ask me?!?” He laughed too, finally asked, and she said yes. Today, a cozy home, two old cranky cats, and one cracked-out puppy await the joys of the life they’re building. As September 9, 2025, draws near, their hearts beat a little faster—not just for a wedding, but for a lifetime. A lifetime of slow mornings (that Katherine will surely shorten to clean), sunset walks (that Ben will turn into races with Basil), of growing old while staying young at heart—and always choosing each other. Because what started with a swipe… became a forever kind of love. So much love. 💜🧡
