We met during our first month at Colorado Law and immediately struck up a friendship based on a shared enthusiasm for adventure. After three years of bike rides, study sessions, hikes, lectures, and potluck dinners with an amazing group of friends, we ended our law school career with a two-week boat trip down the Grand Canyon - the capstone of the single best law school seminar ever created. It was there, on a desert river beach, that we decided to try being more than friends.

In the summer of 2019, we survived the stress of the bar exam together, took a bar trip to Lander, WY to shake off the lingering stress, and shared a few final in-person dates before Eric moved to Washington, D.C., for work. We did the long-distance thing for a few months before the pandemic hit and everyone's life was upended. For us, we found a silver lining: Eric was able to move back to Colorado.

Our next adventure took us to Crested Butte, where Kat tried the small-town lawyer life and Eric maximized his ability to work remotely. The mountain biking and skiing were amazing, and we will forever be grateful that we got to spend some time in such a beautiful place, but we quickly realized that we wanted to be closer to friends and family. So, in February 2022, back to Denver we went!

Eric proposed in June 2023 in Lyon, France, under a trellis of roses in a blooming garden. We followed the happiest day of our lives (so far!) with a two-week adventure through France and the UK, where we biked, trekked, and ate our way up to Edinburgh.

And now, on to the next adventure! We are so happy we can share the beginning of this next chapter of our lives with so many of our loved ones! Thank you so much for helping shape who we are today.
