Christian and Katherine's Love Story began in 2014 during their freshman year of college.

They were both in Anthropology class when the professor tasked the students to group up based on their race (shoutout Dr. Berman!). Christian and Katherine are both half-asian and half-white and ended up in the same group. Even though it was a group project, they found themselves only working with each other. After class ended, Christian suddenly disappeared and Katherine looked around the room, unable to find him. She picked up her things and left the classroom.

As she was walking out of the building, she saw in her peripheral vision that Christian was waiting for her outside of the door. He ran to catch up with her and they walked back to their dorm building together.

After that, they sat next to each other in class, attended extracurricular activities together, and hung out almost everyday. About 3 months later, they became boyfriend and girlfriend.

Christian and Katherine began their long-distance relationship as Katherine moved schools after her first year at UNCC. They were long-distance for 3.5 years!

In 2018, after Katherine graduated, she moved back to Charlotte so they could move into their first apartment together! Long-distance was finally over.

Christian and Katherine decided to adopt a cat together! Ophelia (Ophie) was adopted in September of 2020. She is the best kitty ever and fits right into their little family.

In 2022, Christian and Katherine bought their first home.

In May of 2023, Christian finally popped the question!

They traveled to Nashville, TN to see Taylor Swift at The Eras Tour. The night before the concert, Christian took Katherine to a beautiful restaurant. After dinner, he led her to the restaurant's garden at sunset and asked her to marry him. Of course she said "yes"!
