With few special occasions these days, we would love our guests to get dressed up with us! We ask that you lean into your inner Austin bohemian and bring your most fabulous formal boho style! What the heck is boho wedding? Check out the Boho style tab for photo inspiration.

We considered lots of different options for our wedding. After weighing various destinations, Austin felt the most right. Tom attended the University of Texas in Austin and Kathie’s Mom & Stepdad retired to Lake Travis so we both have fond memories and connection to Austin. And let’s face it, Austin is way cooler than Houston! When considering most of our friends and family would be coming from afar, we felt that most would rather have a weekend exploring Austin vs our big city hometown of Houston.

The wedding will take place 5:30pm -10:30pm. Please plan to arrive to the Allan House around 5:00ish pm or a little after so you can visit and get seated for the ceremony. The Allan House is in downtown Austin at 1104 San Antonio Street. We highly encourage use of Uber or Lyft. For those that prefer to drive, parking is available at the 505 W 12th Street parking lot.

We will have the entire Allan House property to ourselves. The ceremony, dinner and dancing will take place outdoors on the patio. Cocktail hour will take place inside the Allan House. In the case of inclement weather, everything will be moved indoors.

During the cocktail hour there will be light passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a buffet dinner and desert. For our vegetarian/gluten or dairy free guests, please make sure to indicate your dietary preference on your RSVP as we’ll have some specific dishes for you. There will be a full bar, signature cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.

We’re planning an intimate wedding and have intentionally invited our nearest and dearest. Your invitation indicates the names and number of guests. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests beyond those indicated.

Unless it’s the teens/young adults specifically invited, we’re planning an adult party.

Your attendance as our gift! We do not have a wedding registry. We realize travel is expensive and cherish that you're making the trip to celebrate with us! If you would like to bring a card, we would treasure your well wishes. A box will be available at the venue for cards.

We have secured discounted room blocks at several downtown hotels. Their information and registration links are listed under the “travel” section of our website.

We're renting a VBRO house near the Allan House as our home base. If you will be in town on Thursday, please join us at our rental for an informal dinner. More details will be published closer to the event. If you will be staying the weekend, we're planning an optional group activity Saturday evening for those interested. More details to come. In addition its motto of "Keep Austin Weird," Austin is known for its traffic. When staying downtown, many things are in close proximity and often walkable. Uber or Lyft are readily available when you need a lift.

There's a saying in Texas, if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute. The best data says that September in Austin has an average temperature of 80 degrees during the day and 70 degrees in the evening with moderate humidity. Texas weather changes quickly so we recommend checking the forecast prior to travel.
