Matt and Katie first met on August 14th, 2019. They were both new members of Junior Council, a charity board benefiting Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. After attending a membership meeting, the two tagged along with mutual friends to Streeter's Tavern. They were introduced to one another at the bar, got to talking, and the rest is history.

Over the next two years, Katie and Matt created many memories in Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park. They each worked individually to build their careers as Katie attended graduate school and Matt worked in finance. They enjoyed getting closer, as well as spending time with friends and family.

Beginning in June 2021, the couple faced long-distance obstacles with Katie completing her internship and residency programs at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Despite the distance, they never grew apart.

In July of 2022, the couple took their first trip to Europe together. It was there, in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, were Matt got down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him. Of course, Katie said yes.

As they worked towards building their lives and careers together, they decided to call Atlanta home. Katie continues to work at Emory University as a clinical psychologist and Matt works in finance. They can't wait to celebrate their marriage with friends and family in Savannah, GA.
