Our story began with a stroke of luck and a chance encounter following the Wilmington St. Patrick's Day parade on March 11, 2023.

Kathleen, feeling fortunate after finding a lucky penny on the ground, crossed paths with Pat, who happened to be downtown by accident, completely unaware of the festive celebrations taking place.

As Pat sat outside a cigar bar, savoring one of his last moments of bachelorhood, fate intervened, and our worlds collided. ** From that serendipitous moment, our love story unfolded quite effortlessly. We went on one date a few weeks later. After that, we didn’t really date - we transitioned from strangers to companions spending most of our time together.

Since then, our time together has been filled with endless adventures, from pool parties to cookouts, disc golf to camping trips, hiking , patio hopping to cozy evenings at home cooking dinner together. With each shared experience, our bond grew stronger, and our connection deepened.

We are excited to embark on our forever journey together - filled with gratitude for finally finding our person -- and forever grateful that each of us truly loves the friends and family that came along with the other.

** By "fate intervened and their worlds collided" I mean that my sister-in-law Leslie spotted Pat sitting outside the cigar bar, apparnetly eyeing me. She said "hey- are you looking at my sister?" To which Pat replied "You can't go to jail for looking." Or something like that. But the point is - Leslie is the real reason we're here today!
