It all began one fateful night on a dating app called OkCupid. It was probably raining, a slight drizzle that echoed through-out the home, as he sat next to a lit fireplace that danced shadows in the room. He probably had a whiskey in one hand while scrolling the outdated app, trying to find someone worthy of his objective humor and charisma. After what felt like an eternity he finally came across the perfect profile. He sent a message that was highly clever, insanely hilarious, and extraordinarily in-depth, and waited for a response knowing full well he had crafted yet another perfect opening message.
It felt like an eternity. He kept checking the app to see if a message was received. How long has it been? Oh wow only a few minutes, he thought, and that's when the message alert appeared. It was her.
Her reply was simple yet elegant, with simple emoticons and punctuation points, but most importantly the grammar was proper and the spelling was accurate. A good sign, he thought. After basic pleasantries, they agreed to meet up at a local bar. The rest is history.
She immediately fell in love with him, which was very obvious and apparent to him, but hardly a surprise. He was objectively hilarious and ruggedly handsome, making her laugh with the simplest of jokes, and making her swoon with the smallest of gestures. The question was - would he feel the same way?
As it turns out, yes he did. It took some time, but the "I love you"s eventually came, and once the honeymoon phase receded, and the feelings of love still prominent, they both knew this was the real deal. It was too easy.
10ish years later they plan to get married, despite feeling like having been married for 10ish years.
