Q + A

Where should I stay if I am from out of town?

For reservations, please see our "Travel" page.

What is the timeline of events for the day?

Ceremony begins at 2:00 PM and will last approximately one hour. *We highly encourage guests to bring a snack and silent entertainment for the little ones.* An indoor cocktail hour begins at 6:00 PM. Reception and dinner begin at 7:00 PM and the reception ends at 11:00 PM.

Why is there a 3 hour gap between the ceremony and reception?

St. Xavier holds mass at 4:00 PM on Saturdays. Therefore, the church performs weddings at either 2 PM or 6 PM. We chose 2 PM to ensure we would have plenty of time to take photos and greet our guests at cocktail hour.

What should I do during the break between the ceremony and reception?

If you are an out of town guest, feel free to check into your hotel and relax for a bit. Change into your dancing shoes, explore the city, and hydrate for the festivities to come. There will be an Art and Light Festival downtown on Saturday called Blink. Feel free to explore and checkout the amazing art exhibits! For more recommendations, visit our "Things to Do" page.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes. Wine and beer during cocktail hour. Then, starting with dinner service at 7 PM, there will be a full-service bar until 10:30 PM. *please drink responsibly*

What should I wear?

Attire is formal, black-tie optional. Some examples include floor-length gowns, formal cocktail dresses and pantsuits, suits with ties, and tuxedos. With that said, we plan on dancing. Therefore, we highly recommend comfortable shoes for the reception!

Where is your Registry?

We are registered on The Knot and through Amazon. We have also started a honeymoon fund for our next big adventure together. If you would like to make a contribution, please see our Registry page for more details.

How do I get back to the hotel at the end of the night?

We will have a free shuttle bus for guests staying at Hilton Netherlands and Embassy Suites River Front. The bus will begin offering rides at 10:00 PM and will run for approximately 1 hour. If you are staying in a hotel other than those listed on our website, please check Uber and Lyft for rides.
